Very Slick Site Maps

Short one today. This collection of links caused a mini stir in the #drupaluk IRC channel yesterday (thanks to longwave). Nothing dazzling, just a nice and easy approach to a really pretty site map for your Drupal website. Firstly, have you seen SlickMap CSS yet? If not, take a look-see here:
http://astuteo.com/slickmap/

It's just good old CSS. Apply it over any nested "unordered list" style menu, up to three levels deep, and it will produce a beautiful, all-CSS, site map for you like this:
http://astuteo.com/slickmap/demo/

Isn't that sweet?

Now enter the Drupal Site map module:
http://drupal.org/project/site_map

It already outputs (you've guessed it) a nested "unordered list" style menu. How convenient! So this post in the Site map module's issue queue was only a matter of time:

SlickMap CSS site maps in Drupal in seconds. Nice!

I think site-maps are a crutch only useful if your information architecture is so terrible that you have to actually spell it out for your users.

BTW your captcha is impossible for even humans to use.

Perhaps you're not human? =P

Ps - site maps (usually XML) are actually a guidelines requirement for all UK government websites, I discovered the other day, so whether we like them or not is rather irrelevant. We're obliged to build them for many clients.

This is very helpful, thanks for posting!

Hi, Greg.

Before I go diving in to this, it looks from Haas remarks like we don't have a stable solution yet...the issue isn't closed.

However, you wrote http://www.drupaler.co.uk/blog/very-slick-site-maps/433 a month later, so....

Should I infer that this is ready for sleeve-uprolling?

Thanks,
Bram

Hi Bram,

Yes, dive in! This patch works (or worked at time of writing):

It supposedly needs "finishing", but I don't think so.
